About Us
The Plainfield Fire Company #1 is a dedicated volunteer organization serving our residents through fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical response, and exceptional community service. We are committed to providing a superior level of public safety that continually improves the quality of life, health and wellbeing of the people who live in and visit Plainfield, Connecticut.
The Town of Plainfield, Connecticut is 42 square miles and is home to approximately 16,000 residents. Plainfield is broken into 4 villages, each served by their own fire department. Ambulance transport is handled by an ambulance corps independent from the fire departments.

911 call receipt and emergency dispatch is performed by Quinebaug Valley Emergency Communications, Inc. located in Killingly, Connecticut.
The Plainfield Fire Co #1 serves the Plainfield Fire District in the Town of Plainfield. Our primary service area is approximately 25 square miles.
A dedicated force of 30 volunteers answer emergency calls for service 24/7/365. Company trainings are held each Wednesday at 6:00pm. The second Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm is the Fire Company’s regular business meeting.
The Plainfield Fire District meets the first Monday every month at 7:00pm. All Plainfield Fire District taxpayers are welcome to address any questions, comments or concerns.
